Can I include a gift message?

Yes you may!  There is no charge to include a gift message to accompany your order.  Simply type your message in the designated box on the checkout page. The gift message is printed at the top of the packing slip that is included in the shipping box with the merchandise.  No prices are included.

Are your products kosher?

Every item we sell is certified kosher by the certifying agency of the purveyor from which it comes and is labeled with its certification, including items that are Kosher for Passover.  Most products are OU, STAR K, and OK.  Most baked goods are Pas Isroel.  Additional information at challahandco.com/kosher-certification.

Do you list ingredients for your products?

Ingredients are listed for most of our baked goods in the "Care" tab on each product page.

Can I place a single order for multiple recipients?

Yes, you can. Place all of the items you are purchasing in the cart. If you are purchasing the same item for multiple recipients, change the quantity to the number of recipients. When you reach the checkout page, you will see a link "Ship to Multiple Recipients." Click this and follow the prompts. Please note that you cannot checkout as a Guest to use this feature. You must create an account/log in to your account.

Can I request a delivery date for my order-order now/ship later?

Yes, you can. To request a future delivery date (Monday through Friday), simply add the date in the "Add Gift Message and Requested Delivery Date" section on the checkout page.  We often plan a buffer day and orders can arrive a day earlier than requested.  If this is not acceptable to you, please note with your requested delivery date.  We will not replace/refund any orders that arrive a day or two early or a day or two late if you have not authorized a buffer day. If you do NOT request a delivery date and your order is not for an upcoming holiday, we will ship out within 1-2 business days.

* Any products that are highly perishable such as: fresh fruit baskets, gluten free products, bagels and lox, certain specialty cakes and breads cannot be shipped with flat rate or free ground shipping if destination is more than two days in transit ground.

Express Shipping:  Next Day, Two Day and Three Day are available.  We ship via UPS within the United States, Monday through Friday from Norwalk CT. (We do not ship to PO Boxes or Internationally).  We ship to APO/FPO via the United States Postal Service.  Delivery times depend on location.  All orders placed after 4pm on Fridays and over the weekend are shipped on Monday.

Packing and shipping materials such as boxes, packing paper and tape are included in all of our shipping costs.

What are HOT WEATHER STATES:  States that are hot year round that require expedited shipping and ice/insulated wrap.  Certain products to these states cannot be in transit for more than two days nor over a weekend.  States included are; Florida, Texas, Louisiana, Georgia and Hawaii.

How do I know if my order was delivered? Can I track my order?

On the day we ship, you will receive an email with a tracking number. You can track the package to see if delivery has occurred.  You can also log in to your account at challahandco.com and click "View Order Status." Find the order in question and click "View Order Details." At the bottom of that page, you will find a clickable tracking number that will show you the UPS delivery information.

How are your gifts wrapped?

All of our gifts are beautifully wrapped with shred, cello and raffia ribbon.  Our wrapping is very attractive and we receive many compliments from our gift recipients! You can be assured that prices never accompany a gift. 

Do you have a storefront and are you a bakery?

No, we do not have a retail store and we are not a bakery.  We source products from all over the world and we ship from our warehouse in NJ. 

What are your customer service hours?

Our customer service representatives are reachable by phone from 9:00AM-5:00PM, M-TH, 9AM-2PM, FR, ET.  We are closed on weekends. For emergencies, emails are responded to outside of these hours and on weekends and holidays.  Please email [email protected]

Where do you ship from?

All orders are shipped from our Tom's River, NJ warehouse.

Do you ship on weekends?

No, we do not ship on weekends.  

Do you offer Saturday Delivery?

Yes, UPS offers express Saturday delivery for an additional cost.  This method will show up upon checkout with other shipping methods.

What should I do if I have given you the wrong shipping address?

If you give us an incorrect shipping address, PLEASE email us immediately after placing the order with any corrections.  Once the package has shipped, we cannot extend our guarantee to orders for which we are given the incorrect or incomplete address.  UPS will delay deliveries for any inaccuracies in a shipping address, from a wrong or incomplete apartment number, wrong zip code to an incorrect street number on the street address by at least one day. There is a $16.50 fee for a delivery re-route, return or address correction.  This amount will be charged to your original form of payment for any package that was sent to an incorrect address and for any packages returned to us that where not picked up in a timely bases from a UPS access point.  For a fast and efficient way to update your delivery information, we encourage our customers to sign up for UPS MY CHOICE,  it's easy!

When will my order be shipped?

Unless requested for a specific date, most orders placed by 2 pm, ET will be shipped out same day. Orders placed after this time will ship the following business day.  We ship daily, Monday-Friday-however Friday shipping is for orders delivering on Saturday. To maintain freshness, we prefer to avoid our products sitting in UPS warehouse over the weekend. Orders placed after 2PM, ET, Friday as well as Saturday and Sunday will be shipped on the following Monday. PLEASE NOTE: During the week leading up to a major holiday (Chanukah, Passover, Rosh Hashana) AND the week prior, if your order is NOT for the holiday and you would like us to ship ASAP, please let us know this in the "Requested Delivery" field on the checkout page. If you don't, we may ship it to arrive for the upcoming holiday.

When will my order be delivered?

The day that we ship is NOT considered a day in transit! Weekends are not counted as transit days. For example, a package shipped on Friday that takes "3 days in transit" will be delivered on Wednesday.   To determine the number of days your package will be in transit when shipped with GROUND SHIPPING,Please note that UPS delivers Ground packages Monday through Friday.

Will the product stay fresh if the time-in-transit is more than a day or 2?

Freshness and quality is our top priority.  You can rest assured that if our website allows you to select ground shipping it is because we know from experience that the specific product can travel that many days. Conversely, some products are programmed to be in transit no more than 2 days based on their high perishability factor. Additionally, we change our shipping methods based on the season and weather conditions. 

When I receive my order, how should I store it?

Challah, cookies, rugelach, babka and other pareve baked goods can sit out in a cool, dry place for up to a week.  Apple and cinnamon walnut coffee cake should be served or frozen within 1-2 days of delivery. All baked goods freeze beautifully up to six months.  All gluten free baked goods should be served within a day of receiving or placed in the freezer for up to six months.  Gluten free challah, rolls and bagels should be placed in the freezer upon delivery.  To freeze, wrap in plastic wrap or leave in original packaging and place in freezer bag.  To defrost, take out of freezer bag and store at room temperature for several hours. Refrigeration of baked goods is not recommended. Either eat or freeze and be sure to enjoy!

We want you and your gift recipient to be happy!  If you're not, just notify us within 24 hours of delivery and we will make it right by issuing a store credit or a replacement.  If the item(s) is damaged, photos of the product and the shipping box must be emailed to us at [email protected] within 24 hours of delivery.  This is required by UPS in order to submit a claim. All sale items are final sale.
